Sakaya is Nozawa Onsen’s premier Ryokan and dates back over 100 years and is located in the heart of Nozawa Village, close to shops , restaurants and bars.

It also only a few minutes’ walk to Nozawa Onsen moving walk way so it’s very easy access to the ski slopes. This Traditional Japanese Ryokan is now run by the 18th generation of the Mori family and photos adorn the walls that show the history of Nozawa Onsen and the Ryokan. 

The original site for the hotel was a Sake brewery and thus the origins for the name Sakaya, which can be translated simply to mean Sake Shop.
