Getting to Hakuba

Hakuba is located about an hour from Nagano City and can be accessed in several ways, depending on where you're coming from. If you have any questions regarding transfers or would like to book any of the services, as part of your Japan Powder Ski Holidays package, please don't hesitate to contact us. 

From Tokyo - Narita International Airport

  • Nagano Snow Shuttle Bus services direct to Hakuba leave in the morning and the evening daily and are great value. They make the transfer easy after your flight, where you can sit back and enjoy the scenery of Tokyo and then the mountains as you head to Hakuba. 
  • Nagano VIP Shuttle a Driver will meet you with a sign with your name on it at the arrivals section of Narita Airport and will then take you to your accommodation in Hakuba. Shared or Private Options available.
  • Hakuba can be accessed via the Japan Railway (JR) from Narita Airport. You will need to catch two trains, first the Narita express to Tokyo Station and then change to the Asama Shinkansen (Bullet Train), when you arrive in Nagano (the last stop) turn left after you exit the bullet train ticket gate and head to the ground floor to catch the Alpico Highland Express bus to Hakuba, or a private transfer can be arranged. FROM TOKYO - Haneda Airport Terminals

  • Nagano Snow Shuttle Bus service from Haneda Airport is direct to Hakuba and leaves in the morning and is of great value, making transfers easy after your flight, so you can sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic views of the city and then mountains as you make your way to Hakuba. 
  • Nagano VIP Shuttle a driver will meet you with a sign with your name on it at the arrivals section of Haneda Airport and will then take you directly to your accommodation in Hakuba. Shared or Private Options available.
  • From Haneda, catch the monorail to Hamamatsucho Station and then transfer to the Japan Railway train (JR Line) to Tokyo Station, and then change to the Asama Shinkansen (Bullet Train), when you arrive in Nagano (the last stop) turn left after you exit the bullet train ticket gate and head to the ground floor to catch the Alpico Highland Express bus to Hakuba. FROM TOKYO - City

  • Hakuba can be accessed via the Japan Railway (JR) from Tokyo, there is a daily direct Azusa express train from Shinjuku which leaves at 7:30 am and arrives at approx 11:30am at Hakuba Station. 
  • Alternatively, the Asama Shinkansen (Bullet Train) departs Tokyo Station regularly from early morning until late at night, it also departs from Ueno station before heading to Nagano. When you arrive in Nagano (the last stop) turn left after you exit the bullet train ticket gate and head to the ground floor to catch the Alpico Highland Express bus to Hakuba, or a private transfer can be arranged. From Chubu Centrair International Airport (Nagoya)

  • From Chubu Centrair International Airport (Nagoya) , take Meitetsu line to Nagoya Station. You can access Hakuba via the Japan Railway (JR) from Nagoya Station, by transferring on the Shinano Wideview train where you will transfer to an express at Matsumoto Station or the local train (depending on your timetable). FROM Osaka and Kyoto

  • From Osaka and Kyoto, take a bullet train to Nagoya Station. You can access Hakuba via the Japan Railway from Nagoya Station, by transferring on the Shinano Wideview train where you will transfer to an express at Matsumoto Station or the local train (depending on your timetable). From other ski resorts 

  • Nagano Snow Shuttle Bus services are direct to Hakuba from other ski resorts and leaves 2-3 times daily depending on the ski resort you wish to travel from, these are of great value and make it easy for you and your family. 
  • Nagano VIP Shuttle private charters are only available from other ski resorts. A driver will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and will then take you to your accommodation in Hakuba. 

Alpico Nagano Bus

Alpico Nagano Bus leaves regularly from Nagano Station to Hakuba and takes approximately 1 hour. The bus stops at Hakuba Goryu Bus Stop, Hakuba Station and the Happo Bus Terminal as well as several northern ski resorts such as Tsugaike and Norikura.

Azusa Express Train

The Azusa Express Train runs from Shinjuku (Tokyo) to Hakuba. Offered once a day as a direct service and takes about 4 hours. This service provides travelers who wish to catch the train with a direct and alternative option to catching the bullet train and connecting bus.

Nagano Bullet Train (Shinkansen)

The Nagano Shinkansen allows fastest link to get from Tokyo to Nagano. It takes about 90 minutes to get from Tokyo to Nagano, and then just 1 hour to get to the slopes of Hakuba.

Nagano VIP Transfer

A flexible door to door service that can be booked as a shared service or a private charter. When coming to Nagano and Niigata, pick up points include Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, Chubu Centrair International Airport (Nagoya) and Hotels in Tokyo and Nagoya as well as from Nagano station to your hotel.

Hakuba Snow Shuttle

Hakuba Snow Shuttle is a convenient three times a day service from Narita Airport to Hakuba or on return the bus will take you to either Narita or Shinjuku.
