Getting to Furano

 

Furano is located in Hokkaido and is approximately 2.5 hours from Sapporo. Furano can be accessed in several ways, depending on where you're coming from. If you have any questions regarding transfers or would like to book any of the services, as part of your Japan Powder Ski Holidays package, please don't hesitate to contact us. 


From Asahikawa Airport

  • Lavender-Go Bus departs from Asahikawa City via the Airport for Furano Resort almost every hour during the day, and the journey from the airport will take approximately 1 hour depending on the en route weather conditions and the conditions on the road, the bus stops at the New Furano Prince Hotel and the Kitanomine Hotel area. 
  • Catch the Airport transfer bus from the airport terminal to Asahikawa Station. From Asahikawa JR Station, take the JR Furano Line to Furano Station. The ski resort itself is a short taxi ride from Furano Station (approximately 5-10 minutes). Total travel time is approximately 2.5 hours. For timetables and fares please check Hyperdia.


From New Chitose Airport 

  • Hokkaido Resort Liner services are direct to Furano and leave multiple times throughout the day and early evening which are of great value. They make the transfer easy after your flight, where you can sit back and enjoy the scenery as you head to Furano. It is the most convenient way to arrive and the journey takes 3 hours, depending on the en route weather conditions and the conditions on the road. (Reservations are required 7 days prior)
  • Private Shuttle or Taxi a driver will meet you with a sign with your name on it at the arrivals section of New Chitose Airport and will then take you directly to your accommodation in Furano, which ideal for larger families and groups.
  • The quickest way to get to Furano Resort by train is via Sapporo Station. Take the JR Rapid service from the Airport to Sapporo JR Station and then transfer to Takikawa Station, from Takikawa Station take the JR Nemuro Line to Furano. From Sapporo City

  • Hokkaido Resort Liner services are direct to Furano and leave multiple times throughout the day and early evening which are of great value. They make the transfer easy, where you can sit back and enjoy the scenery as you head to Furano. It is the most convenient way to arrive and the journey approximately takes 3 hours, depending on the en route weather conditions and the conditions on the road. Alternatively, you can catch the Chuo Bus from Sapporo Station Bus Terminal to the Furano Bus Terminal which departs hourly (Reservations are required 7 days prior) 
  • Private Shuttle or Taxi a driver will meet you in your hotel lobby and will then take you directly to your accommodation in Furano, which is ideal for larger families and groups. 
  • Travelling by train from JR Sapporo Station take the Limited Express to Asahikawa and then transfer to the JR Furano Line to Furano Station. Total travel time is usually 2 to 3 hours. For timetables and fares please check Hyperdia.
