Details

Sahoro resort is known for its blue sky days in winter, while snow often falls overnight which makes for perfect powder skiing during the day. Sahoro is a medium sized resort with only 22 courses (marked runs) with 81 hectares of piste terrain and 610 metres of vertical terrain. The resort is below the tree line with various runs and courses cutting through the forest and mostly sitting within a large bowl, with 9 courses for beginners, 6 for intermediates and 7 for advanced riders (black courses).

A new northern area has increased the size of the resort by about 50% for the 2016-2017 season. The area opens up 5 new courses (with only one classified as beginner) and they are serviced by a new quad lift. Sahoro Resort Bear Mountain - a kind of 'higuma bear safari park' is open outside of the winter season and located by the base of the ski hill.

The Sahoro ski area is made up of two base areas. One is at the bottom of the South Road and the Sahoro Resort Hotel, whilst the main hub and terminus of various runs is at the Gondola Station (adjacent to the day carpark). The resort dedicates 35% of its courses to beginners, 45% to intermediates, and 20% to advanced skiers and boarders. The lifts are open from 8am until 6pm daily.

Sahoro features a reasonably well developed lift network with a gondola, 3 speed quads, 1 triple lift, 2 pair lifts and one single lift (some with hoods - protecting you from the weather conditions) servicing the resort. The slopes of Sahoro are renowned for being uncrowded, although sometimes the lift queues can get long, particularly at the gondola if there are lots of local school groups. Sahoro also has a couple of magic carpets: one is located outside Club Med and the other just diagonal to the gondola base near the beginners platter lift.
