Furano boasts 170 hectares of skiable terrain, making it one of the larger ski areas Hokkaido. The ski area comprises of two interconnected mountains both providing a total of 23 long and wide runs for patrons of all abilities. Furano resort is the best in Hokkaido for intermediates that are looking to build on their skills and confidence long, steep uncongested runs. There are also vast quantities of wide, mellow slopes ideally suited to beginners through Furano for novices to become familiar with. For the thrill seekers, Furrano is home to one of the only World Cup standard half pipes in Hokkaido. In addition to the half Pipe there is a large terrain pipe and many downhill courses, which has been able to attract some of the biggest names in Winter sports and has facilitated many world cup ski and snowboard events.
The family is well taken care of at Furrano as both childcare and ski lessons with English speaking staff and instructors, a rarity in Hokkaido. If you tire of the powder, the Furano Ski Area also provides a Family Snowland, which provides other winter activities such as snowmobiling, parasailing and dog sledding.
